Medicine when served as a job comes with improvements in lifestyle. We become shift workers with more tolerable hours. It takes away some of the pressure to extent beyond healthy boundaries. And in some regards you are also free of the headaches that come in running a small business. I’ve doubled my office staff in the last five years to handle pre-certification, coding and billing. We need to navigate regulations. An IT staff is needed to manage records. It’s getting expensive to stay in business and we’re just trying to hang on.
